How Credits Work
Learn about Nucleus AI's credit system, including credit types, usage tracking, and reset cycles.
What are Credits?
Credits are the currency you use to interact with Nucleus AI. Every action you take - from chatting with the AI to using connectors and running computations - consumes credits based on the complexity of the task.
Credit Types
Nucleus AI has three types of credits:
Monthly Credits
These are included with your subscription plan and reset at the beginning of each billing cycle. Monthly credits are always used first.
- Free: 500 credits/month
- Starter ($19/month): 2,000 credits/month
- Plus ($39/month): 5,000 credits/month
- Pro ($99/month): 15,000 credits/month
Add-on Credits
You can purchase additional credits at any time. Add-on credits never expire and are used after your monthly credits are depleted.
- 500 Credits: $5
- 2,000 Credits: $18
- 5,000 Credits: $40
Bonus Credits
Earned through the referral program or promotions. Like add-on credits, bonus credits never expire.
Credit Usage Order
When you use Nucleus AI, credits are consumed in this order:
- Monthly credits (used first)
- Add-on credits (used after monthly credits are depleted)
- Bonus credits (used last)
Tracking Your Usage
You can view your credit balance and usage in the Billing page:
- Click your profile picture in the sidebar
- Select Billing
- View your current balance and usage breakdown
The credit overview shows:
- Total Available: Your combined credit balance
- Monthly: Credits from your current plan (with reset countdown)
- Add-on: Purchased credits that never expire
- Bonus: Credits from referrals and promotions
Credit Reset Cycle
Monthly credits reset on your billing date. If you subscribed on January 15th, your credits reset on the 15th of each month.
Important: Unused monthly credits do not roll over to the next period. Add-on and bonus credits, however, never expire.
Tips for Managing Credits
- Monitor regularly: Check your usage in the Billing page to avoid running out
- Buy add-ons: Purchase add-on packs for credits that never expire
- Refer friends: Earn 600 bonus credits for each successful referral (they get 600 too!)
